Bringing Savings to the Community: Our New Partnership with Social Supermarkets in Kirkby
Knowsley Mutual Credit Union is proud to be partnering with the Social Supermarkets in Kirkby to make saving easier, more accessible, and more affordable for local families.
Through this new collaboration, members of the Social Supermarkets can open a simple savings scheme with us starting from just £1.00. We know that saving isn’t always easy—especially with day‑to‑day pressures—but even small, regular amounts can build up over time and provide a valuable safety net.
Our aim is to bring financial wellbeing directly into the heart of the community. By placing savings opportunities where people already go for support, we hope to encourage the habit of saving and give everyone the chance to build financial confidence.
We’re excited to work together to help more local residents start their savings journey—one pound at a time.
How the Supermarket Savings Scheme works:
A Pantry shop price is £5.00, but from every shop, £1 will be paid directly into a Knowsley Mutual Credit Union savings account for the customer.
Anyone who doesn’t already have an account will be fully supported by our team to open one, helping Pantry users to both access a secure savings account and start putting money aside — including saving towards next Christmas.
This partnership will help people to:
