Teaching Kirkby’s Children the Power of Saving

Knowsley Mutual Credit Union is proud to support local families through our School Savings Scheme, designed to help children in Kirkby build positive money habits from an early age. By introducing practical lessons about saving, spending, and budgeting, we’re giving pupils the tools they need to make confident financial choices as they grow.

Through the scheme, children can open their very own savings account with the Credit Union and make small deposits each week at school. Even saving as little as £1 helps children learn the value of consistency, responsibility, and planning for future goals.

Our aim is simple: to make financial education accessible, fun, and meaningful. By working directly with schools, we’re bringing real‑life learning into the classroom and encouraging families to build strong saving habits together.

We’re excited to help the next generation in Kirkby start their financial journey—with skills that will support them for life.

We look forward to working with  all the schools in Kirkby and have so far started with East Croft Primary, Park Brow Primary, St Joseph The Worker, St Laurence’s Catholic, St Marie’s Catholic, St Michael and All Angels, and Westvale Primary.
